Chef Yuen Yiu Fat Appointed Executive Chinese Chef of New World Beijing Hotel

Yuen Yiu Fat has been appointed the executive Chinese chef of New World Beijing Hotel, emphasising the position of 8 Qinian, the Chinese Restaurant as what many consider to be Beijing's perfect dining destination.

Chef Yuen brings more than 30 years of Chinese kitchen leadership experience to the position.  He has held the position of Executive Chinese Chef in five-star hotels, such as Grand Hyatt Guangzhou, The Peninsula Beijing, Renaissance Shanghai Pudong Hotel and the Forum Hotel, Shenzhen, for over 10 years.  Chef Yuen’s most recent post was in New World Dalian Hotel, where he was the Executive Chinese Chef, supervising a team of 20 chefs. 

Chef Yuen's passion for food and its flavour potential drives him to design ever-better culinary creations.  His style is distinctively simple, with the taste of every ingredient distinguishable and yet complementary in every dish.  Uniting classical cooking methods with modern techniques, Chef Yuen’s Cantonese cuisine sets new trends.  At the 8 Qinian, the restaurant’s new menu will incorporate Chef Yuen’s originality and talent, and he will lead the team to strive for perfection on every plate.  

Chef Yuen has an excellent reputation in the professional field.  He has been awarded the Guang Dong Mingchu and Yue Gang Mingchu, and has been named Famous Chinese Master Chef.  He is the Honorary President of the World Association of Master Chefs (Beijing Branch) and a member of the China Cuisine Association and Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.
