Beginning on September 25, 2015, Grand Hyatt Beijing will present a new band, Velvet, at Redmoon. A sensational three-piece band with endless energy, Velvet is set to deliver stellar instrumental and vocal performances with an electrifying stage presence.Comprised of artists with professional experience in the international music scene, Velvet will play a variety of musical styles, including R&B, dance, Top 40 and classic pop hits. The band is made up of lead vocalist Tamrell Hunter, guitarist Bob Sauler and drummer Shawn Mercer.

Tamrell Hunter is the silky vocalist all the way from California, USA. Tamrell's early life was filled with pure musical scenes that formed her character and led her to pursue a career in singing. Her smooth, sweet-sounding voice meets the deep and profound musical knowledge of the renowned Canadian drummer Shawn Mercer and American guitarist Bob Sauler to create a majestic trio.
With a strong desire to play music, guitarist Bob Sauler started performing at the age of 15, playing rock gigs in Philadelphia and New York City. He then pursued degrees in guitar with classical theory and jazz guitar performance. With a complete comprehension of music theory, composition and arrangement, along with his passion to perform, Sauler brings amazing entertainment and live energy to audiences around the world.

Canadian-born drummer Shawn Mercer’s first music teacher was his father, Jerry Mercer from April Wine, a Canadian popular rock band formed in 1969. With a distinctive degree specialising in drum performance, the younger Mercer blends Latin, jazz, rock, pop, hip-hop and blues sounds.  He is a musical chef, using his own Canadian spice to concoct a tantalising cuisine of world music.

“Redmoon is renowned in Beijing for pioneering live musical entertainment in sleek surroundings. Following the launch of Velvet this September, our new band Velvet and its lively beats will continue Redmoon’s reputation for taking our guests on an exciting musical journey in China’s capital,” said Christopher Won, Food and Beverage Manager at Grand Hyatt Beijing. Come and experience the sensation of Velvet, Monday through Saturday, from 8:30 pm until late.
